 It has been a long ride for Chosen Few’s own Fuego. After countless appearances on most Chosen Few projects as well as collaboration’s with some of Reggeaton and Hip-Hop’s elite, Fuego will soon be making his own mark on music with his long awaited debut album.Being apart of the elite Chosen Few team, Fuego has patiently waited for his time to shine and now the bi-lingual singer and sometime MC is stating he is ready to show the music industry what the future of music is all about. With a hit single and video “Super Estrella” feat Omega, blowing up on the radio, TV, internet, and youtube, Fuego says it’s been worth the wait. “I have been preparing for this time all my life, the album is going to give my fans so much more of me then ever before. I have some surprise collaborations that I don’t want to mention right now but I can say point blank that the album will be my best work ever.” It’s a busy time for Fuego not only does he have to live up to a name that means fire, but he is currently recording everyday because he says he plans on delivering on his name sake. “When I wake up in the morning songs come to me, I have a small studio in my home so whenever a song comes to me, I can record it right then and there. I can be in my boxer shorts just making music. I don’t even write anything down anymore. I do music for fun even on my off time, music is my life.” And Fuego hasn’t had any off time in awhile now. Maybe that’s why he is currently single. Fuego currently splits his time between Washington DC and NYC when he isn’t on the road performing around the country and abroad promoting his new single “Super Estrella” and the up coming album. Fuego also just finished shooting the new video for “Super Estrella” in D.R., which was endorsed by the hottest brand of sparkling liquor out right now Nuvo. Life for Fuego now is a lot different then his days growing up in Washington DC, but he credits his family for giving him the gift of music. “My Dad play’s many instruments and so does my brothers. My brothers are actually now in my band, there was also so many different types of Latin music in my house that I was influenced by so much, that’s why I bring so many different styles like salsa, bachata, merengue, mambo, R&B, reggae etc. I bring it all to my music plus so much more.” Although mostly Spanish rhythms were played inside Fuego’s house outside, Fuego was strictly Hip-Hop. So with so many different genres of influence, Fuego began cultivating his own unique style on the streets. “I would freestyle wherever, whenever. I would make up rhymes and spit them both in English and Spanish whatever.” A unique style that many heavy weights in the music business have dubbed not only the future of Reggeaton but also the future of music in general. What really puts Fuego in a class of his own is the fact that he is able to flip it in both Spanish and English flawlessly. With that ability alone Fuego has been recognized outside the norm and is relatable to everyone. “I was born in America and although I lived in the D.R. for part of my life, I represent both cultures. I think a lot of people can relate to me, you know.” Being relatable while still being true to yourself is something that comes easy for Fuego. Fuego also is cultivating up incoming talent just how his mentor Boy Wonder did for him, he says that he has a lot of goals set for himself and that after the album comes out and is a huge success he wants to start branching out into many areas including having his own reality show, label ownership, and even doing some charity work. With his signature braids, that Fuego admits gets done every week to his incredible swagger that comes across in everything he does, Fuego is making a permanent mark as a truly gifted artist ready to win over the world with his diverse and stellar music one fan at a time.
